Log Monitoring Alert in Dynatrace

Setting up custom alerts in Dynatrace using log monitoring is a powerful way to catch silent failures. With just a few clicks, you can track critical log entries like AccessDeniedException and take proactive action.

Step 1: Access Log Monitoring in Dynatrace

  • Log in to your Dynatrace environment.
  • Go to Logs & Events from the left-hand menu.
  • Search for the specific error string:

Create a metric: for Dashboard Purpose (optional)

Once you clicked on click on create metric, you will be automatically redirected to the section below.



Please create Event Extraction in the Log Events under Log Monitoring

Configure log patterns that trigger events for alerting and Davis® analysis. Note that log event detection consumes Davis® data units

Once you have done a log event, if the particular log pattern matches, Dynatrace will trigger a problem like below.
